Animal Crossing: How to Earn 16 Medals on Elite Scavenger Tour
I don’t like the mini-game tours on the island. I ONLY do them to earn medals so I can buy the cool stuff from the island shop. The quickest way for me to earn medals is with the Elite Scavenger Tour.
In about two minutes, I can earn 16 medals EVERY time. Here’s how I do it.
Tips and Tricks
- The locations and exteriors of the houses are completely random, as is the design of the town.
- There is only one item you need in each house. If you’ve found one of your items, you don’t even need to waste time looking at the other items to see if they are there. Just move on.
- There are two houses with nothing you need in them. If you hit them first, then you KNOW that your items will be in the last three houses.
- Don’t forget to run back to Tortimer to verify your items before the clock runs out.
- If you finish with 2:00 minutes or more on the clock, you’ll earn a Gold Tortimer and 16 medals. If you finish with less than that, you’ll earn a Silver Tortimer and 12 medals.
The beauty of this game is that you don’t need to memorize what EVERY piece of furniture looks like. You just need to memorize these eight house setups. While the exteriors of the houses are random, the interiors will look like one of these eight.
This mini-game was doable, but kind of hard until I realized that the furniture placement stays the same every time. For the life of me, I can’t tell the difference between the folk guitar and the country guitar, but now I know that the folk guitar is in the middle of the floor and the country guitar is on the right side, so it’s easier. I still have trouble with all of the totem poles, though. There are too many of them and they all look the same to me.
Now that I have learned where everything is and what it looks like, I can earn 16 medals in about two minutes, with a best time of 4:27 minutes remaining. I check the tours every day to see if the scavenger tours are available and stock up on medals so I don’t have to hit any rolling Cornimer machines with a toy hammer.
If you learn these eight floor plans, you also will be able to get 16 medals EVERY time.
