Timex Digital Ladies Watch

Filed under: Watches — Laura Moncur @ 12:30 pm

Women\'s Timex Digital Casual Watch 28412“Well there’s this one…” is what I would hear every time I walked into a watch shop asking for a good looking digital watch for a woman. No matter which features I asked for, they would always pull out this one. It started to bug me after a while because I would specifically ask for a stopwatch, yet this is the first watch they would bring out. That’s because it was the only watch they had to bring out.

This watch has some great features. The date displays with the time. There is a light, so I can read it at night. It looks better than some bright pink plastic watch. Oh, and it has an alarm. What it doesn’t have is what made me have no use for it. There is no stopwatch, no countdown timer and no dual time. I could give up one of these three things, but not all three.

This watch is great if you need to know the time and date. If you want to measure time in any other manner, however, you’re out of luck.

  2. I had a watch that looked like this one only I could time 1 minute, 3 minutes and more. do you still make any that can time a short amount of time, I used it a lot, I probably bought 3 or 4 before I could not find it any more.

  3. I agree it is a nice ladies digital watch but a pain in the arse to change the battery.

  4. I would love to get this watch for my mum. She has early onset Alzheimer’s and is finding it increasingly difficult to read her analogue watch. I’ve showed her a heap of other digital watches but most are too sporty, big or confusing for her.

I’ve searched high and low for this watch but can’t find any online retailers that sell it, apart from a corporate gift website. They charge $40 for the watch, but require a minimum of $200 order. I wrote a letter explaining my mum’s circumstances but they weren’t prepared to accommodate an individual order. I’ve also looked in the shops but haven’t had any luck yet.

If anyone can help me locate this watch, I (and my mum) would be really grateful!

  5. Stephanie,

This watch is no longer available, but there are some similar ones for sale at Target right now. They were some trendy brand like Mossimo or something, but they were really easy to read and looked alright. They were men’s watches, so they were a little big, but the bigger numbers make it easy to read.

  6. Thanks Laura! I’m in Australia, not sure if the Target stores here will have the same stock but will definitely check it out – much appreciated!
